Witness the volcanic origin of the archipelago, and experience the charm of Teror and a historic hacienda in Arucas. On this excursion you will:
- Take an approximate 30-minute drive from the pier to the vast volcanic crater of Bandama.
- Enjoy wonderful views from the edge of this extinct volcano, rising nearly 1900 feet above sea level, of the valley and city of Las Palmas in the distance.
- Stop for a short photo opportunity then drive to Teror, a charming town with whitewashed houses, red tiled roofs, ornately carved balconies, and charming patios hidden behind large wooden doors.
- Take in the ambiance as you stroll along the cobblestone streets and have an outside visit of the Church of Our Lady of the Pine, the patron saint of Gran Canaria.
- Continue on to Arucas where you’ll stop at La Hacienda del Buen Suceso, the oldest ranch in the Canary Islands dating back to 1572.
- Learn that the Marquis of Arucas converted the hacienda into a hotel in 1997, maintaining both its colonial architecture and original setting among a sea of banana plantations.
- Enjoy a coffee break in this relaxing paradise before your journey back to the pier, with a photo stop at Altavista along the way.
Note: This excursion involves approximately 1.5 hours of walking. Be advised that the drive involves winding roads and is not suitable for guests who suffer from vertigo.
