Board your motor coach at the pier for your guided tour of Arica.
• Visit the Morro, a small promontory that penetrates the sea like a spur. It houses the Arms Museum, which exhibits objects providing an insight of the War of the Pacific.
• Head towards the Azapa Valley where you will visit San Miguel Archaeological Museum, which has a collection of pre-Columbian artifacts and mummies preserved in sand from ages ago, dating back to 5,000 BC, which makes them the oldest mummies in the world, and unique as the method of preparation was artificial.
• A photo stop of the geoglyphs will be made on the way. These are drawings made on the hillsides either by scratching the surface or by piling up dark stones.
• Stop at the Handicraft Village for some free time for shopping for knitted articles, ceramics, pottery, carved stones and handicrafts.
• Finally, enjoy a photo stop in the Main square for a visit to the Cathedral before returning to the ship.
Notes: Comfortable shoes are recommended due to uneven ground and steps. Videos are not allowed in the Archaeological Museum.
