Shipboard Activities

Carnival's 39,000-plus shipboard employees participate in a wide range of community service projects, both in its embarkation ports and ports of call throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and other sailing regions.

Many of these efforts are initiated and organized by crew members themselves, who donate their time to a variety of charitable organizations. Throughout the fleet, employees host fundraising activities and organize collections of various materials that are donated to social service agencies, particularly those that benefit children.

Shipboard employees also visit orphanages and schools to paint, landscape and beautify these facilities, as well as spend quality time with the children, who often are the guests of honor for tours and luncheons aboard the "Fun Ships." Shipboard employees also play a key role in the company’s Care to Play: Carnival For St. Jude Kids campaign which has a goal of raising $5 million toward the hospital’s pediatric cancer research and education efforts through fun, interactive shipboard events and activities.

The company’s shipboard volunteer efforts also include environmental service, with team members regularly participating in beach clean ups, both on an individual basis and through the efforts of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association, of which Carnival Cruise Lines is a member.
