Kathy Ireland will serve as Godmother of Carnival Cruise Lines’ new 110,000-ton Carnival Freedom, which launches European service March 5, 2007. Ireland has proven to be the perfect person for the job not only because she is a successful business woman, but also because she devotes time to her family, charities and several philanthropic organizations.

Always thinking about her customers, Ireland was inspired to create her clothing line in order to offer fashion and accessories to women at an affordable cost. She founded Kathy Ireland Worldwide in 1993 with a collection of designer socks with Moretz Sports. Today her collection extends from swim wear to maternity wear.

Even with all of her business responsibilities, Ireland actively works with various non-profit organizations. She was just named by UCLA as one of the top 10 women’s health advocates in America.

Some of her charities include the National Women’s Cancer Research Alliance, Hope for the City of Hope, Family Services and Parenting for Athletes and Entertainers for Kids, Special Olympics, Feed the Children, the Dream Foundation American Paralysis Association and the March of Dimes.
