INTRODUCING CARNIVAL MAGIC'S GODMOTHER

Lindsey Wilkerson – whose inspirational story has taken her from a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to an employee within the organization and ambassador helping share its message of hope and inspiration – serves as godmother to the new Carnival Magic. She officially named the vessel during a shipboard ceremony that took place May 1 in Venice, Italy, prior to the ship's inaugural voyage.

DREAMING OF THE DAY

"It took your hearts ... and your loving minds ... and your generous souls to make this fabulous dream come true," says Danny Thomas, founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Thomas dreamed of building a state-of-the-art children's cancer research facility in Memphis, TN. In 1962, as St. Jude opened its doors to young patients from around the country, that dream was realized. As Carnival commits to raise $3 million over the next three years through our "Care to Play" giving campaign, we're helping one more dream come true: ending childhood cancer once and for all.

DREAMING OF THE DAY

Check out the Carnival Block Party. We shed everything corporate and got outside to have a little fun for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Kicking off our efforts to raise $3 million over the next three years through the Care to Play giving campaign, it was our way of throwing a little momentum toward the cause. From the fun team and dancing Fun Force to a dunk tank complemented by the antics of Funship Freddy, we all got in the groove and raised some money for our favorite children's research hospital.

DREAMING OF THE DAY

As part of our fundraising efforts to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and in conjunction with the launch of our new ship, CARNIVAL DREAM, a 17-foot tall children's storybook was created. That's right, 17 feet tall - with some great press and pretty happy kids to prove it. The book, the Dream Plucker of Perrysport, helped spread the word about the continued efforts of St. Jude and was a great way to make a difference in the lives of some special kids along the way.
