THREE CARNIVAL SHIPS TO AID FEMA NEW ITINERARIES FROM MIAMI AND PORT
CANAVERAL
September 26, 2005
Carnival has chartered the Sensation, Holiday and Ecstasy to the Military
Sealift Command (MSC) on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) as part of the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
As a result of the damages sustained by the Port of New Orleans and the FEMA
charters, we have made the following itinerary changes:
The Carnival Conquest homeport operation has been moved from New
Orleans to Galveston, Texas. All future Carnival Conquest cruises will operate
from Galveston.
The Sensation 4 and 5 Day cruises from New Orleans have been cancelled
through and including the cruise of October 21, 2006. The Sensation will
return to service New Orleans on October 26, 2006.
All Elation 7 Day cruises from Galveston have been cancelled. The
Elation will operate 4 and 5 Day cruises from Galveston through and including
the cruise of April 3, 2006. The Elation will then be redeployed to operate 4,
5 and 7 Day cruises from Miami and Port Canaveral (see New Itineraries below).
The Ecstasy 4 and 5 Day cruises will be operated by the Elation on
cruises through and including April 3, 2006. The Ecstasy will return to
service in Galveston on April 8, 2006.
All Holiday 4 and 5 Day cruises from Mobile have been cancelled through
and including March 23, 2006. The Holiday will return to service in Mobile on
March 27, 2006.
Please note that the Holiday, Ecstasy and Sensation will undergo extensive
refurbishing after the completion of the FEMA charters prior to resuming
service.
NEW 2006 ITINERARIES
7 Day From Miami
The Elation
will offer a new four-port 7 Day itinerary from Miami from April 30 through
and including October 15, 2006 (Sunday departures). The new itinerary will
include calls in Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk.
4 & 5 Day From Port Canaveral
The Sensation will
offer new 4 and 5 Day cruises from Port Canaveral beginning March 23, 2006
through and including October 19, 2006. The Sensation will then be replaced by
the Elation effective with the cruise of October 23, 2006 and the Elation will
continue this new 4 & 5 Day program on a year-round basis.
Two
different 4 and 5 Day itineraries will be offered on a seasonal basis and will
include calls in Key West, Cozumel, Nassau, Freeport, Half Moon Cay or Grand
Turk.
