My fiancee and I are going on this cruisedate too!!! This will be my second and his very first. I'm excited and he really is. One word of advice: pack light. I mean just a few shorts and Tees and a swimsuit or two. If you opt to do formal night - some people dress like it's their Senior prom - however, nice dress pants, a button down (ironed) shirt and a tie will probably suffice...for the ladies, just a nice church kind of dress will do....that or either a simple silk dress. I wouldn't suggest going out and spending a load of cash on a tux or a formal evening gown because the dinner and all that formal night entails lasts only an hour or two.
The big deal is really just to pack light because you will undoubtedly buy stuff (souvenir T's, whatnot, on the vacation so leave room to bring that stuff home. This way you can also do self-assist departure off the ship at the end of the cruise which will save you waaaaaay more time then waiting for your number or letter to be announced to disembark....sometimes it can take an hour or two just to get off the ship when you elect not to do self-assist departure...but the only way it will work for you is if you pack light. Something not toooo heavy that it throws out your back to carry....trust me on this one.
For the most part customs there is quicker passing through getting off the ship than getting on the thing. haha.
The less clutter you bring the more enjoyable you'll feel getting on and off the ship. Just don't forget your passport or birth certificate, cash or credit cards, or important medicine.
I sure cannot WAIT for this cruise. 37 days and counting down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See ya 'round on the ship.
