does anyone have any information to give me about the pros and cons of booking a suite?  Are there any room categories that you would strongly recommend against booking?  I am in the midst of booking a group of several rooms and want to know if it is worth the extra money to book a suite.  Any suggestions or information would be very appreciated.  Thanks!

What ship are you booking?  If you are on the Pride, I would recommend the extended balcony cabins.  There is usually a big price difference going to a 9A, 11 and 12.  We were in a 12 once and it was great, but it was a free upgrade.  If there are more than 2 in a cabin, it might be worth looking at a category 12 because there is a huge difference in cabin size from a regular cabin.

If you are on the Paradise, there are very few suites.  It is an older ship (beautiful), but not configured like the Pride.

It would be best to talk to your PVP about your needs.

You are not specific so I am assuming you are talking about suites on a ship?  Are you asking about booking a suite for yourself or for the entire group?  On our 1st 2 cruises my husband and I have booked a Cat. 11 Balcony Suite on the Verandah Deck on the ship we were on.  For us, it was worth it it as we got the Military Discount too.  We got VIP Boarding which is always a plus and we were towards the front of the ship on the Verandah Deck.  So we did not feel much motion or noise.  Are you getting a group discount thru your PVP or TA?

The Cat. 12 Suites are the more expensive larger Penthouse Suites with a jacuzzi tub and even with our great discount have not splurged on that one yet.  We love the balcony and extra room, along with the fridge, so for us it's great.  We will always book one as we really do love them.  I guess you would have to compare the cost if you are talking about booking a suite for everyone in your group and see what the price is versus another stateroom like an oceanview stateroom.
