As many of you may already know I have a website dedicated to crusiing Carnival. Well I think it's time for me to develop a page about Cruising with Special Needs.  If anyone has any suggestions then please post them here.  Thanks in advance.

Cheryl,

Another special need that we see more and more questions about is people who use oxygen concentrators, C-PAP machines, use/suppliers of oxygen, etc.  Carnival Guest Services do have special requirements, and forms to fill out.

There are also special provisions for physically disabled when it comes to the lifeboat drills, etc., so that the physically disabled aren't jammed against walls, and run over by people going up and down the stairwells, and so on.

There is a lot that Carnival can do to help special needs folks, if folks advise their TA or PVP when they book their cruise.  It may take having an extra form filled out by your doctor, faxing it to Carnival, but that makes them aware that you are there, and if they can provide assistance, they will.

I think this is going to be a very productive area for special needs folks of all types!

I told my PVP about my grandson who I am going to be taking with me in Aug, and the Guest services got a hold of me,  And told me how to handle his food allergies, also they wanted to know about any other problems he has... so it is good to know that if you let someone know they do give you all the info that you do need.  Just an FYI  to do have soy milk onboard... but you can only get it from the dining room.

INFORMATION ABOUT SHORE EXCURSIONS AND ASSESSABLE GROUND TRANSPORTATION WOULD BE GREAT!

I'm interested in information about people with back problems.  Not a complete disability, but have trouble moving around some.  also curious about what shore excursions people with limited mobility go on.

If you sign in to Carnival's website and go to the excursions for your cruise you will see that the excursions are "classified" by mobility. This may help.

What's your website?  I'm new to the site and still trying to get a feel for things.  Also, addressing food allergies will be good.  I'm allergic to shellfish so I'm always looking out for the lone shrimp that may be hiding in my food, lol.  Paranoid, to some degree about my allergy.  But I've had to be.
