We have sailed many times with Carnival but have never embarked in San Diego.  What is a good time to arrive at port? We sail on 3/22/09 on the Elation. Thanks for your help.

What time does it sail?

Are you driving from somewhere or do you live here in town?

We would like to arrive as early as possible.  We are driving down in the morning from the Riverside California area.  The ship sails at 5:30 pm.  Thanks for helping out.

so you will be parking across the street or at the pier?  Do you want to wander around the bayfront too?

They have the traffic moving pretty smoothly all the times I have been downtown when ships are loading.  I get everywhere early so I make sure I have a parking spot and I can scope everything else out. If you are coming down to 8 east to 5 south take the airport exit and follow the signs.

One of the more experienced cruisers could tell you how early to get to the boat though. However, I'll be glad to give you some areas to hang out in while you wait.
