I just booked this cruise TODAY.  I will be traveling with my husband, daughter (17) and son (18) and I have a few questions....

      1. What is the drinking age aboard ship?

      2. What is the cost for a beverage/soda card?

      3. Do I make reservations ahead of time for the sushi restaurant?  If so, how?

Any other tips or info would be gratefully appreciated.   My son is a student at the Air Force Academy and is home for a short time every summer.  We want a nice family vacation that will be relaxing and fun.

      THANKS, in advance.

      1. What is the drinking age aboard ship? 21 just like in the US.

      2. What is the cost for a beverage/soda card? Not sure, but it's reasonable if you drink lots of soda.  I hear it depends on how many days...like $9 per day times 4 days plus gratuity.  I never purchased one as we drink lemonade/tea or ADULT beverages.

      3. Do I make reservations ahead of time for the sushi restaurant?  If so, how? I've been on Elation several times and I don't think there is a sushi restaurant.  There is a sushi bar that is towards the front of the ship, near the show room that is free. The line is usually pretty long, but it moves fast.

Any other tips or info would be gratefully appreciated.   My son is a student at the Air Force Academy and is home for a short time every summer.  We want a nice family vacation that will be relaxing and fun.

The drink card price depends on age.  Per day the pricing is : Adults (over 18) is $6.00, children is $4.00, they add a 15% gratuity.

Drinking age is 21 (as the other poster stated) but the Casino is 18.

We are also on this cruise.  There is myself (47), hubby (47) retired Navy Chief, and our 18 year old son who is autistic.  He is quite the ladies man (a hugger too). There is a roll call on here somewhere.  We like to hang out on the Lido deck (port side) as people watch.  Nate (our son) enjoys watching the water for ships.

We have been on Carnival several times and I have a website with many tips and hints.  Go to www.seauonboard.com and click on Cruise 101.  You will find lots of helpful information there.

Hope to Sea U Onboard :)
