What should we choose to do in Belize?  We have two young boys, ages 8 and 5.  How is the Goff's Caye...we were thinking about doing that and planning to snorkel from the beach rather than the boat.  We hate to miss the beaches and snorkeling there but have also heard that the zoo is good.  Can we fit both in?  Help!  We are doing the Tabayan Beach excursion the next day in Roatan.

We just got off the Legend today. In Belize, we did the Altun Ha and Belize City Tour. I cannot recommend it for your young boys. You will spend more time on the bus than at the ruins. Others on the ship with us had a great time on the river Wallace, but since we did not do that I cannot recommend which of those tours would be best for you. I hope you have a great time!.

The likelyhood is that if the web site will allow you to book it then you might be able too, it should come up and tell you if there is a conflict, we are in Belize for 8 hours.

We took the land Rover expedition and powerboat excursion 2 years ago, it was fun but I'm not sure if your 5 year old would enjoy it

We are booked on the Legend June 21st.  I am traveling with my Daughter, Husband, grandson 6yrs., and grandaughter 7 yrs. and our friends 82 and 86 yrs. old!   We have booked a private excursion for Belize that we are all excited about.  Cave tubing with Belizeexcursions.com (Island Marketing LTD).  They will allow the kids to cave tube at 5 yrs. old.  Small groups, no more then 9 with the kids tour.  Through the same company we are going to zipline with the kids, age 5 and up, in Roantan.  Cozumet doing Tulane Ruins.  Last year we did the Med. 12 days, lots of Italy in that one.  Is this the kids first cruise?

We were just on the Legend 5/24/09.

Tabyana Beach is wonderful. Calm water...you swim out about 20 yards to the coral...perfect for kids (my girls are 5 and 8).

Adult friends did Goff's Cay...they said the water may have been too rough for the kids...bigger waves out there....but they loved the excursion.

We did the cave tubing in Belize. We used Cave-tubing.com, they were wonderful.  We booked it ourselves and did the ATV jungle ride and then the tubing. Fantastic excursion.

Thanks for your report, we are now even more excited.  Are there life jackets available for the kids at Tabyana Beach?  I was told that most snorkeling excursions require everyone to wear them but I am wondering what happens when we are at the beaches?  We are planning to snorkel but won't want the kids out 20 yards without life preservers.  Oh, what about snorkeling gear?..for rent there as well?

We booked the private beach excursion thru Carnival for Belize.  Did you hear anyone commenting about that?  The cave tubing sounds great, were your girls scared?  We are concerened about not getting back to the ship on time if we book through someone else while in Belize, any thoughts?

Thanks!

going on the legend oct 25, 2009 and have a 6 yr old. How safe is it to go on line and book cave tubing excursions? Most of the time they tell you not to book any excursions that the cruise lines don't use.

Google for Major Tom in Belize. He has the best cave tubing experience with the cruise lines. He makes sure he knows the time of all the ships and he also has an extra tender on stand bye just in case. He has never missed a ship yet. I just did his tour 2 weeks ago and loved it! He is totally an awesome person and will meet you coming off the ship as well as see you off on your return.

We did the Cave tubing and ATV adventure with cave-tubing.com.  They were awesome and the ATV ride throught the jungle was awesome!  You will get muddy but well worth it.  The cave tubing was cool, but cold due to rain in Belize when we were there.
