Do you get "thalassotherapy etc. benefits" anytime you have a treatment?

Or, do you have to "buy" that in addition to the treatment?

I went on a short cruise on the Splendor in March, and were told to use the "thalassotherapy" spa, there was a fee. We paid it, got a little wrist band to identify the purchase.....then witnessed several folks using the spa who hadn't paid??? **But I will add this....it was worth every penny....its awesome!!!

The Thalassotherapy Pool (really should be called a hot tub) and the Thermal Suite are considered "Members Only" areas of the Spa. To become a "Member" you must have either purchased a "Spa Cabin" or join the Spa at the beginning of the cruise. They do sell some "day passes" to the Spa after the ship has left home port. I had a "Spa Cabin 8S" and was given a small rubber wristband to use to enter the "Members Area".

I was disappointed with the Thalasso pool because it was more like a big hot tub instead of a pool and Carnival did a crappy job of designing the area around the pool. For example there are no hooks for people to put there robes up. There was only a single bench to sit on but it was covered by people's robes since that was the only place put personal items. Plus, I did a number on my foot from some kind of bracket that was hidden on the bottom of the pool.

The thermal suite was far nicer and I enjoyed using it nearly everyday of the cruise.
Cheers,

Ken

My wife and I will be on the Aug.23 cruise to Mexico (Splendor) and have a question on the Thalassotherapy spa, how much did you pay to use it?,  was this a per day charge? can  you buy a pass for the length of the cruise?

thanks for your inputCoolYesCool

You do have to pay to use the pool, and the thermal suite. We were on a special 2 day cruise, and paid 15.00. I know you can buy a pass for the week, but I'm sorry, I don't know how much it is. Unlike the above person, I found the thalassotherapy pool to be very rejuvanating. Yes, it was more like a humongous hot tub, but the ionized salt water was very theraputic. Yes, there should be more hooks and/or benches around, but still, it was very relaxing. I also found the thermal rooms to be awesome, especially the captain's sauna room, the view is breathtaking. When you get aboard the ship, check with the people at the spa desk for rates. Be careful though, they will try to take you on a tour of the spa, and book you into more than you may want. Just tell them you aren't interested in anything but the use of the spa facilities.

If you're in a "Spa Cabin" there is no charge. If you're not in one of these cabins then the charge is $149 for the week or $30 per day.
Cheers,

Ken
