I looked at accuweather.com and they show that Miami will be cloudy and rainy on Fri Jun 12 (the day we sail!) and that the weather in Nassau will be 70% chance of rain on Saturday (the day we're in port).  So, what can we expect for things to do when it is rainy, in port and on the ship?  Neither my sailing partner nor I drink or gamble and were hoping to spend as much time as possible on deck. Any suggestions? This is our first cruise and really have no idea what to expect if it's raining throughout the whole cruise.  Another question.  We booked an excursion (glass bottom boat) through Carnival and if the weather is bad and they cancel the boat tour, will we get our money back?  It has already been paid for.

Keep in mind that the extended forecasts and Mother Nature can change and are very unpredictable.  Hopefully you will not have the rain and maybe just some clouds.  I do know that if you book any excursions thru Carnival and they do get cancelled you will get a full refund.  As far as the other questions you have someone should be able to help answer them.  I think the casino is closed when the ship is in Port too.  I know I checked the weather forecasts for about 2 weeks before each of our cruises.  Luckily we had gorgeous weather.  It did really rain....actually...poured when we were in Miami for our 1st time.  I was literally drenched from head to toe...LOL  So, I was more prepared when we left for Miami on our 2nd cruise.  I found a compact umbrella that went in my carry on.  If it was raining when we left the airport I had it handy.  I also always packed a jacket with a hood and or a hooded sweatshirt in case it was chilly at night.  It came in handy on the ship in the evenings some nights especially if it was a bit windy on deck.

Thanks Suzy. I've already got my umbrella in the carry-on, and ready to go.  I am hoping I won't have to use it. My travel companion, a friend since childhood, and I are already planning on packing travel scrabble and travel yahtzee so if it gets bad we can always play games.  We are mostly packing them for the layover we have in Memphis for 3 hours, but it will be good to have them in case of rain anyway.
