For those that have gone to the water park was it worth it or should my time be better used doing other activities?

My wife and I have heard from friends and from people on this site that it is something we should see and we can't wait to go! We are taking the excursion from carnival because we are only there from 8:30-2:00 and I would rather have a tour guide show us Atlantis than going there for the first time ourselves. I know it's a expensive excursion but we really want to see it!

You can pay $110 at Atlantis for a day pass instead on $150 from carnival. Screw having a tour. That's just cutting into our time there.

This will be my husbands and myself 3rd cruise with carnival and our childrens 2nd. This will be all of ours 1st time on the Glory. We are wondering this as well. We have 5 teenagers ranging from 14 to 20 all wanting to go there. I have seen that you can get tickets to Atlantis from the resort for 110.00 . But it also says if it itsn't all booked. They will only be available to outside guests if not booked on that day. If anyone else finds another way instead of booking through Carnival for this excursion at a reasonable price let us know.

      Thanks Cindy and Steve Bahr

The only other way is to book a room at the cheaper hotel on the grounds. You can check in and check right out and you get passes for hom many people staying in the room.

It is definately worth seeing, but not worth paying for an excursion. I would save your $ for excursions in other ports. The water park is cool, but just over priced. We've been to Nassau twice and Atlantis twice. We took a taxi and walked around, visited the aquarium (really cool) and went to the market to shop and of course stopped in Senior Frogs for a beer. The employees at Atlantis might ask you for a "wrist band" which indicates you are staying at the hotel or have paid for a pass to the park, but really don't care if you are just touring the sites and walking around.  Have fun. You will love St. Thomas and St. Marteen. Absolutely beautiful. Be sure to negotiate the taxi rates. They will work with you...
