The dress code was not enforced.  While a number of people got very dressed up for the dress up dinner, there were also a number of people in swim suits, men in tank tops, and filp-flops. If there is a special dinner, enforce it.  If not, then don't have it.

This concerns me a little bit. We have not actually booked yet, as we are saving up for the deposit, but when I call and book I think I will need to get help with picking our room. I would like to be a little higher, but I would also like to be pretty far away from the clubs because we are taking our toddler and he is hard enough to get to sleep as is.

zarkarella, when you book a cruise to make sure that you will not have a problem with noise make sure you book a cabin that is on a deck that has cabins above and below it. this way the only noise problem you would have is from other cruisers.

In these hard times for the love of the lord let's be grateful we can afford a vaction .I am just to be able to go away is Heaven let's remember there are people who would love to be able to eat without worring about the cost .And we can afford to travel and we are still not happy come on

zarkarella, when you book a cruise to make sure that you will not have a problem with noise make sure you book a cabin that is on a deck that has cabins above and below it. this way the only noise problem you would have is from other cruisers.

In addition to VA's recommendation, when you book, first checkout the available locations shown on the website, and have your deckplan available when you book to view other cabin locations that are available, and check all these for potential  "location issues" on the deckplan. If you're a HEAVY sleeper location might not be a large concern, if you're extremely light sleeper you might want to take VA's advice and also avoid being too close to stairs and elevators. If you're extremely subject to motion sickness you might want to also try to stay on a lower deck, midship.  ken

 Just curious.....this poster lists problems with the cruise........but their cruise countdown clock says that they have not yet sailed on their "Anniversary CruiseOur First Cruise"

 I enjoy cruising, especially the ability to use the ship as a floating hotel.  On my recent cruise on the Paradise, I did enjoy the chance for a brief get-away.  On the Paradise, the crew were excellent, and the service up to par.  However,  there were a number of things which disapointed me.

 1. The quality of the food was uneven. Also, if I did not know better, I would have said that the kitchen was cleaned with clorax, which was not rinsed off.  Also, food lines were over capacity (over half an hour on the like for mongolian stir fry).

2.  My room was directly below the teen club.  Until sometime between 11:30 and midnight the noise of kids dancing and jumping, and the base booming would finally stop - unfortunately, I am a morning person, and generally call it a night by 11 pm.

 3.  In the evening, smoke was virtually everywhere.  The design of the ship contributes to that, as well as a the access to the casino to almost every bar and the central area of the ship.  We even observed a number of people who went into the lido deck food areas to get food, and did not extinguish their smokes (cig and cigars). 

 4.  All of the music was good, but so loud it was uncomfortable.   In Mexico, we could hear the music from the ship on shore.
