I was reading a thread over at another cruising forum and there is a poster there claiming that the Bar Credit tickets from the Gift & Services dept is now electronically added to the S&S account instead of being physical tickets that a passenger signs for on the first evening at dinner. Furthermore the poster is stating that if the electronic credits are not used on the cruise they are purchased prior to that they are treated as non-refundable OBC (basically use it this booking or lose it) and could not be applied to a future cruise date the way the paper ones could. A few other posters did offer a rebuttal on the other site did claim they have sailed in the last 2 weeks and did receive the traditional paper strip of Bar Credits on a different ship than the OP. So hard to believe which person is right, so I'm asking this of the people that will have the (hopefully) the correct policy on this issue.

I'm wondering if this person on the other board is a troll just trying to stir things up there or if this is the direction that Carnival is exploring on select ships as a test or is it fleet wide as a ship runs out of the paper credits?

If the virtual bar credits is the direction that Carnival is pursuing could you enlighten us to the exact terms and details of the new program.

Adding to the original question- if this is true and you still have paper coupons from a previous cruise, will they still be honored?

      Hi Mary,

Was just wondering if you have heard anything back on this yet?  I was just getting ready to order some drink coupons when I read this, but thought I better wait until you found out something.  Thanks.
