TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Eligibility

Membership in The VIFP Club (the “Club”) is limited to individuals. No corporate or group memberships are permitted. Limit one (1) Club membership per person.

2. How to Participate

To participate in the Club, enroll online at www.carnival.com/VIFP (the “Site”) and set up a Club account (an “Account”) in accordance with the on-screen instructions. CCL guests who enroll in the Club are referred to herein as “Members”.

3. General Conditions

The Club is sponsored by Carnival Cruise Lines, a division of Carnival Corporation (“CCL”).  Membership in the Club is subject to The VIFP Club Terms and Conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”).

CCL reserves the right to alter or modify the Club at any time in CCL’s sole discretion without notice to Members, including without limitation, the right to add, modify, delete or otherwise change any provision of the Terms and Conditions or any aspect of the Club, including without limitation, any procedure, the Levels, the number of VIFP Points required for any Level, the method of earning VIFP Points, and the Benefits. CCL further reserves the right to terminate the Club at any time without notice to Members. Since any changes will be posted on this page, Members should check this page regularly. Continued membership in the Club following any changes to these Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of such changes.   

CCL reserves the right to audit any Member’s Account at any time. CCL reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to discontinue participation for any Member who acts or is reasonably suspected of acting in any manner which is inconsistent with or violates these Terms and Conditions or any portion of the Club. CCL also reserves the right to discontinue participation for any Member who (i) acts or is reasonably suspected of acting in a fraudulent, dishonest or improper manner in connection with the Club; (ii) acts in a manner that is deemed detrimental to the Club, as determined by CCL in its sole discretion; or (iii) is ejected from any CCL cruise for any reason. CCL’s termination in a Member’s membership will result in immediate forfeiture of all VIFP Points accumulated. CCL’s decisions and interpretations of these Terms and Conditions shall be within CCL’s sole discretion and are final and binding. Members are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to the Terms and Conditions. CCL is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transmission of information regarding the Club, or problems related to any of the equipment or programming associated with the Club.

4. Earn VIFP Points

Members in good standing will receive one (1) VIFP Point for each day cruised (each a “Day”) on a cruise operated by CCL (a “Cruise”), based on published length of sailing. VIFP Points are rewarded for Days actually consumed by a Member, not for reserved Days in the future. VIFP Points may not be awarded for certain charters and/or non-revenue fares, as reasonably determined by CCL.

Except as otherwise stated herein, VIFP Points are credited to a Member’s Account within fourteen (14) days of completing a Cruise. Members can check their VIFP Point balance by logging into their Account at the Site. CCL may, from time to time, offer opportunities to earn extra VIFP Points through participation in different promotions, contests or sweepstakes.

Members will be deemed a certain “Level” in the Club depending on the number of the VIFP Points earned. The following number of VIFP Points must be earned to be awarded the corresponding Level. A Member will be a deemed a “Blue” Level Member once the Member registers for the Club and such Member will be deemed a “Red” Level Member once the Member embarks on a second Cruise. All earnings after that are based on the number of Days a Member accrues on eligible Cruises.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Member books a Cruise in which such Member will attain the necessary VIFP Points to reach a new Level during or by the end of such Cruise (a “Crossover Cruise”), CCL may, in its sole discretion, offer such Member the Benefits offered to Members of the higher Level during the Crossover Cruise.

In order to earn VIFP Points for Cruises that begin and end in Australia (each an “Australian Cruise”), Members must log into their Account and request that VIFP Points be awarded for Days earned on such Australian Cruise(s). Members must review their cruise history and submit a request by clicking on “Missing a Cruise?” and provide the requested information. CCL will not automatically award VIFP Points for any Australian Cruise.

5. Club Benefits

Members who achieve a certain Level are entitled to certain benefits (“Benefits”) which are identified on the Site at www.carnival.com/VIFP/benefits during each Cruise. Benefits are subject to change at any time without notice to Members. Except for any termination reasons mentioned above, once the Member has reached a certain Level, the Member may maintain such Level while taking Cruises with CCL.

6. Disclaimer and Limitations

Neither CCL, nor its parent, subsidiaries or affiliated companies will be responsible for any loss, injury or damage of any kind incurred by Member or anyone else in connection with Member’s participation in the Club.

THE CLUB IS OFFERED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” CCL MAKES NO WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WITH RESPECT TO THE CLUB AND CCL HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE CLUB, AND ANY PURCHASES OR BENEFITS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. CCL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO ANY MEMBER OR OTHER PERSON FOR ANY DIRECT, COMPENSATORY, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, WARRANTY, STATUTORY RIGHTS OR ANY OTHER BASIS ARISING OUT OF, OR CONNECTED WITH, THE CLUB, OR ANY BENEFITS, EVEN IF CCL HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES OR IF SUCH DAMAGES WERE FORESEEABLE. IN THE EVENT ANY OF THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY ARE VOID OR NOT EFFECTIVE, MEMBER AGREES THAT THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF CCL SHALL IN NO CASE EXCEED $25.

7. Questions or Complaints

The Club is administered by Carnival Cruise Lines, a division of Carnival Corporation.  If Members have any questions or complaints regarding the Club, please contact CCL directly at 1.888.227.6482.

8. Previous Loyalty Program

Individuals who are members of CCL’s Past Guest Recognition Program (“PGRP”) must re-activate their Club Account on the Site. Upon activation, Members will maintain equivalent status in the Club as they had in the PGRP as set forth below:

Additionally, certain Gold Level members of the PGRP will have the following opportunities to advance in the Club:

  • Individuals may earn Platinum status in the VIFP Club by taking ten (10) revenue Cruises by December 31, 2013.

9. Miscellaneous

  • Unless otherwise expressly stated herein, VIFP Points and Benefits may not be assigned, sold or otherwise transferred by the Member, by operation of law or otherwise.
  • The Club is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
  • By participating in the Club, Members consent to and authorize CCL to collect information about the Member in accordance with the terms of the Privacy Policy.  Click here to view the Privacy Policy.
  • All interpretations of these Terms and Conditions as well as questions or disputes regarding participation in the Club, VIFP Points, or Benefits shall be resolved by CCL in its sole discretion.
  • Accumulation of VIFP Points are not Member’s property and may be revoked, cancelled, limited or modified at any time.
  • These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire understanding between CCL and Member with respect to the Club, and supersede any and all prior communications, whether written or oral.
  • Disputes/Choice of Law: Except where prohibited, each Member agrees that: (i) all issues and questions concerning the Club shall be governed by Florida law without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction; (ii) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to the Club shall be (1) resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (2) filed only in the state or federal courts situated in Miami, Florida and hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such disputes, claims or causes of action; (iii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (iv) under no circumstances will any Member be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
  • While CCL will use its best efforts to ensure accuracy of Club information, printing errors occasionally occur. CCL reserves the right to correct such errors at any time in its sole discretion.

  • Priority reservations at Specialty restaurants. Requires minimum 24-hour prior notice. CCL does not guarantee that Member will receive requested reservation time. Member responsible for any and all costs associated with eating at Specialty restaurants, including without limitation, meal and beverage costs and gratuity.
  • Casino: Complimentary 2nd casino tournament entry with the purchase of a casino tournament entry. Member must contact the Casino Cashier to purchase initial tournament entry and obtain complimentary 2nd casino tournament entry, Member must be of applicable legal gambling age to participate in Casino tournaments and the 2nd casino tournament entry may be used for either a 2nd tournament or for a 2nd player of applicable legal gambling age. Limit one (1) complimentary casino tournament entry per Cruise per Platinum Member. No substitution for Members younger than applicable legal gambling age. Additional rules regarding use of Casino facilities may apply.
  • Complimentary Arcade credit for guests of Platinum Members who are under the age of 18. Benefit limited to $5 worth of Arcade credit per Platinum Member per Cruise. Platinum Members traveling with two or more children may redeem up to two (2) $5 Arcade credits per Platinum Member, provided that each child is limited to only one (1) $5 credit per Cruise. Additional rules regarding use of Arcade facilities may apply. No substitution for Members 18 years of age and older.
  • Complimentary Wash/Fold Service. Limit two (2) bags per Platinum Member on a 3 – 6 day Cruise, limit three (3) bags per Platinum Member on 7 - 12 day Cruise and (5) bags per Platinum Member on a 13+ day Cruise.
  • CCL logo gift item on each Cruise. Benefit subject to availability. No substitution if item is unavailable.

    1. One-time complimentary category-type upgrade on applicable booking. Upgrade varies by ship class and is subject to certain category restrictions and exclusions. Does not include upgrade from balcony to suite.
      OR
    2. One-time free passage for 3rd, 4th and/or 5th guest on one (1) Cruise. Benefit limited to cruise fare only. Benefit does not include, and Diamond Member will be responsible for any and all other associated fees, including without limitation, prevailing government fees and taxes, gratuities and/or fuel supplement, if applicable, for each guest.
  • Benefit is redeemable by calling CCL’s Diamond Desk at 1(855)386-8437 only. The Diamond Desk is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Valid VIFP member number is required. Offer is applicable to new bookings only and subject to availability and occupancy restrictions. Offer is combinable with carnival.com published rates. Benefit is capacity controlled and subject to change without prior notice.

    Benefit must be redeemed within twelve (12) months after Member reaches Diamond level and Cruise must sail within twenty-four (24) months after Member reaches Diamond level.
  • One-time charitable contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital™ upon Member reaching Diamond Level.
  • One-time complimentary dinner for two (2) at select Specialty Restaurant granted after Member reaches Diamond Level. Member will receive a coupon representing the Benefit and identifying participating Specialty Restaurant(s) after the cruise in which Member qualifies for the Diamond Level. Benefit includes cost of two (2) cover charges for dinner. Benefit does not include gratuity or the cost of beverages. Diamond Member may make advance reservations on Carnival.com and if making reservations onboard, for all evenings other than the evening of embarkation, 24 hour advance reservations required, at a minimum. Reservations not guaranteed. Member must present coupon to the Maitre'd or Host of the Specialty Restaurant onboard the ship. Not all ships feature a Specialty Restaurant. Please visit Carnival.com to confirm that a particular ship features a Specialty Restaurant.
