Helicopter Ride: Prepare for an exhilarating journey as you ascend into the skies aboard a helicopter. Your pilot will choose one of many scenic routes leading to Musher’s Camp on the Norris Glacier. Marvel at the breathtaking vistas of Tongass National Forest and Juneau Icefield along the way. You might even get lucky enough to spot wildlife or a calving glacier!

Dog Sled Tour: Upon landing at Musher’s Camp, you will be greeted by your guide – a professional musher with years of dog sledding experience. You will learn the history and fundamentals of dog sledding while you mush across a snow-capped glacier behind a team of well-cared-for, excitable sled dogs.

Notes

Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 2 years. Sturdy shoes are required. Due to safety protocols, selfie sticks, iPads, or drones are not allowed on this tour.

What to Bring: Long socks, long pants, warm layers, sunglasses, camera, and credit/debit card or cash for purchases.

Good to Know: Backpacks and purses cannot be accommodated on this tour. Tour operator does their best to keep groups together for the flight portion, however, due to safety reasons, groups may be split depending on the weight and balance of the aircraft. Dress appropriately for a 10-15 °F temperature decrease from sea-level (from the pier to glacier). There is secure storage for your belongings. You will be outfitted with glacier boots that will cover your footwear and will provide waterproof protection and make it easier to walk on the snow and ice. Dog sleds can accommodate up to four guests. This tour operates May 8th-August 31st; subject to change due to snow conditions at Musher’s Camp.
