From swimsuits\u00a0to dining clothes,\u00a0pajamas and everyday outfits, our suitcases can fill up pretty quickly.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve cruised four times together as a family and\u00a0I&#8217;m finally figuring out what we can\u00a0leave at home\u00a0when traveling. It&#8217;s made our suitcases lighter and, best of all &#8211; now\u00a0there&#8217;s\u00a0more room to bring home souvenirs!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4688\" src=\"http:\/\/awaywego.carnival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG1-1.jpg\" alt=\"CWC_Post7_IMG1\" width=\"939\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG1-1.jpg 939w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG1-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG1-1-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 939px) 100vw, 939px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at what you do *not* need to pack for your\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ad.doubleclick.net\/ddm\/clk\/289250561;116134090;y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carnival cruise\u00a0<\/a>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hair\u00a0dryer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This may be the item that takes up the most room in a suitcase. It is awkwardly shaped and not used a lot either, so leave it at home.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find a hair\u00a0dryer built into the powder station drawer in your stateroom. And I&#8217;m happy to report that each hair\u00a0dryer I&#8217;ve used onboard has been heavy duty and just as great as mine at home. Don&#8217;t worry about your hair, you will still look fabulous!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4689\" src=\"http:\/\/awaywego.carnival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG2.jpg\" alt=\"CWC_Post7_IMG2\" width=\"616\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG2.jpg 616w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Computer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I always have the urge to bring\u00a0along a computer, in case I get the urge to write while I&#8217;m sailing. However, having a computer completely defeats the point of being on vacation! Instead, I bring along a small notebook to jot down notes during the week. There are wi-fi capabilities onboard (for a fee) and if you need your online &#8216;fix&#8217;, stop by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnival.com\/onboard-classic\/cruise-entertainment\/internet-cafe.aspx?cid=dgt_dcs_awg_carriewithchildren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Internet Cafe<\/a>\u00a0to check in with your friends at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strollers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While we don&#8217;t typically use our stroller while we are on the ship, we have found it helpful to have an\u00a0umbrella stroller on the days we are in port. There&#8217;s no need to bring one from home though, you can rent strollers on the ship at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnival.com\/onboard\/camp-carnival?cid=dgt_dcs_awg_carriewithchildren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kids camp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4690\" src=\"http:\/\/awaywego.carnival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG3-1.jpg\" alt=\"CWC_Post7_IMG3\" width=\"939\" height=\"627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG3-1.jpg 939w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG3-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG3-1-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 939px) 100vw, 939px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For sailings 5-days or more, a stroller rental is\u00a0$30. For 3-to-4 day sailings, it\u2019s only $8 a day. Single strollers are available on all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-ships.aspx?cid=icp_ships_awg_03182015_wydnpc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cruise ships<\/a>; and some ships even have double strollers available for rent. So, save your little one&#8217;s energy and let them ride in style while you are in port!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snacks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I laugh about it now, but when preparing for our first cruise &#8211; I packed snacks for the girls to last an entire week. Hello?! You&#8217;re on a cruise ship where most <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-food?cid=dgt_dcs_awg_carriewithchildren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">food<\/a> is included, plus <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-food\/24-hour-room-service?cid=dgt_dcs_awg_carriewithchildren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">room service<\/a>! There is no need to bring snacks for the kiddos. My girls were thrilled with the menu items each day and our afternoon\u00a0ritual included room service PB&amp;Js with potato chips during &#8216;family rest time&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beach and Pool Towels<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4691\" src=\"http:\/\/awaywego.carnival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG4-1.jpg\" alt=\"CWC_Post7_IMG4\" width=\"939\" height=\"625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG4-1.jpg 939w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG4-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CWC_Post7_IMG4-1-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 939px) 100vw, 939px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Leave your big, fluffy towels at home and take advantage of the oversized, blue towels in your stateroom. When packing for our first cruise, I was so unsure about whether to bring my own towels. Don&#8217;t waste the space in your suitcase, because these towels are\u00a0the perfect size for drying off after time in the pool and hot tub. You&#8217;ll be dry in no time!<\/p>\n<p>You can use the towels on the ship and even while in port. Each evening, leave your blue towel out for your stateroom steward and you&#8217;ll have a fresh towel waiting for you upon your return.
