(Or just substitute some of the components with premade ones. Nobody\u2019s judging!)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14574 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/horton-cereal-crusted-french-toast-recipe-e1562592953676.jpg\" alt=\"cereal crusted french toast recipe\" width=\"500\" height=\"257\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Prep Info:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Servings: 10<br \/>\nTotal Time: 30 Min<br \/>\nDifficulty: 3\/5<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>INGREDIENTS:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TO MAKE THE BRIOCHE DOUGH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 lb, 3 oz flour<\/li>\n<li>18 whole eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 oz salt<\/li>\n<li>6 oz sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 oz dry yeast<\/li>\n<li>5 lb butter solids<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>FOR THE FRENCH TOAST BATTER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 oz flour<\/li>\n<li>3 lb egg<\/li>\n<li>1 lb sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp cinnamon powder<\/li>\n<li>2 liters milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THICK VERSION OF THE BATTER (use this for brushing):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\u00bd lb flour<\/li>\n<li>2 lb egg<\/li>\n<li>1 lb sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp cinnamon powder<\/li>\n<li>2 cups milk<\/li>\n<li>12 oz Fruit Loops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MARSHMALLOW (1 tray):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\u00bd lb sugar<\/li>\n<li>6 oz liquid glucose<\/li>\n<li>350 mL water<\/li>\n<li>1 lb egg white<\/li>\n<li>5 oz gelatin<\/li>\n<li>300 mL water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THE GARNISH:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some strawberry<\/li>\n<li>The marshmallows!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>PROCEDURE:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>LET\u2019S MAKE SOME BRIOCHE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix the dry ingredients first \u2014 the flour, salt, sugar and dry yeast.<\/li>\n<li>Add those fresh eggs.<\/li>\n<li>Mix all of this together. You\u2019ll get dough! Keep on mixing until it stops sticking to the walls of mixing bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add soft butter and keep on mixing the dough until it turns smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Make individual bread loaves in a baking pans using 10 ounces of brioche dough at a time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>NOW WE\u2019RE MAKING A FRENCH TOAST BATTER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Now you have freshly-baked brioche\u2026 in your home! Take a moment to savor that amazing scent.<\/li>\n<li>Cut your brioche into one-inch-wide slices.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a French toast batter by simply combining the flour, egg, sugar, cinnamon powder and milk.<\/li>\n<li>Batter up! Dip both sides of your bread in the batter.<\/li>\n<li>Drizzle soft butter and oil prep on the bread and cook over medium heat until it\u2019s golden-brown on both sides.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>LET\u2019S MAKE MORE FRENCH TOAST BATTER. EXCEPT THIS TIME\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Yep, we\u2019re actually going to make more batter, but it\u2019s a thicker version. Yum!<\/li>\n<li>Combine all of the ingredients \u2014 flour, egg, sugar, cinnamon powder and milk. Just leave the Fruit Loops aside for now.<\/li>\n<li>Now grab the cereal! Hand-crush half of it, leaving the other half whole, and mix all of it together.<\/li>\n<li>Brush your French toast with the thick batter. It should end up sticky. Use the stickiness to coat the French toast with the cereal.<\/li>\n<li>Grab a sheet tray and line up the pieces of French toast.<\/li>\n<li>Pass it through a CTX \u2014 that\u2019s a commercial conveyor-belt oven, like what you\u2019d use for pizza \u2014 set at 500\u00b0 F (top and bottom). The trip through should take 7 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>EVER MADE A MARSHMALLOW? HERE\u2019S HOW:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dissolve the gelatin with 600 mL of water and melt it over double boiler. You have a double boiler, right? (If not, search the Internet for how to improvise an alternative. It\u2019s not hard!)<\/li>\n<li>Combine the sugar, water and glucose. Boil it until it reaches the consistency of a soft ball. Once the mixture is warm, add the gelatin.<\/li>\n<li>Beat the egg white, then pour syrup and make meringue. (We won\u2019t go into the procedure here \u2014 the Internet can help\u2026 or really, just use pre-made marshmallows. There\u2019s no shame in it!)<\/li>\n<li>Keep running the machine until the mixture cools down.<\/li>\n<li>Dust a tray lightly with powdered sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Pour a thin layer of the mixture into the tray.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>LET\u2019S MAKE THESE INGREDIENTS\u00a0GARNISH-WORTHY:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut your strawberries into round slices using cookie cutter #2.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the marshmallows into round slices using the same cookie cutter.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange on a food-grade skewer. Each skewer should have four slices of strawberry and three slices of marshmallow. See the picture\u2026 hey, we\u2019ve seen that hat somewhere before!<\/li>\n<li>Plate the French toast\u2026 and serve it with syrup, of
