{"id":5460,"date":"2017-02-03T18:25:46","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T18:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/?p=5460"},"modified":"2017-10-04T15:53:36","modified_gmt":"2017-10-04T15:53:36","slug":"aboard-sophies-travel-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/lifestyle\/diy\/aboard-sophies-travel-journal","title":{"rendered":"All Aboard: Sophie&#8217;s Travel Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Last month over the holidays, my boyfriend and parents, and I were able to take a trip of a lifetime with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/?cid=dcs_dcs_blg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s2\">Carnival<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Cruise Line<em>.\u00a0<\/em>I wanted to share this simple travel journal that I\u2019ve been keeping along the way! This is the first time I\u2019ve kept a travel journal for a trip and highly recommend it! It\u2019s such a good way to remember all the fun memories and have as a keepsake item from your vacation. Plus, it\u2019s something my family and I can refer back to later when wanting to relive all the fun memories with Carnival!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5536\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"456\" height=\"442\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal1.jpg 456w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal1-300x291.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I picked a journal that represented my travel: rainbow for the happiness the trip brought me, fluffy for the comfy bed in our cruise room, and bright colors for all the sunshine we saw!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5537\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal2.jpg 616w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal2-300x218.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--[random_promoted_video\/]-->The cruise ported from Miami, so we all flew down to the Miami airport from Atlanta. Michael and I traveled a few days before my parents to enjoy some of the Miami fun we just love so much. From there, we boarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-ships\/carnival-victory.aspx?cid=icp_dcs_awg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carnival Victory<\/a> and headed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-to\/bahamas-cruises\/key-west-cruises.aspx?cid=icp_dcs_awg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Key West<\/a>, our first destination. Key West is such a quaint little town; and we really enjoyed the time spent there. We got brunch at one of the city&#8217;s quirky\u00a0restaurants off Duval Street and it did not disappoint! After some delicious eggs, orange juice and banana bread for breakfast, we walked around town and got some super fun pineapple drinks (see photo below)!! I even found the cutest pink #happyhousedreams on our Key West stroll.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5538\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal3.jpg 616w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal3-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5539\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"456\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal4.jpg 456w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal4-257x300.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After Key West, we headed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-to\/mexico-cruises\/cozumel-cruises.aspx?cid=icp_dcs_awg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cozumel, Mexico<\/a>! We boarded a ferry to head to the Mainland to explore the Mayan Ruins in Tulum via our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/shore-excursions\/cozumel\/vip-exclusive-tulum-and-cenote-swim-with-mayan-lunch-304256?cid=icp_dcs_awg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carnival Shore Excursion<\/a>. When we got to Tulum, we kayaked, swam in a cenote and had an authentic Mayan lunch in the cutest Mayan village.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5540\" src=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal5.jpg 616w, https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/awaywego\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/journal5-300x251.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After our lunch, we tipped the Mayan descendants for their amazing hospitality and homemade food. I guess they aren\u2019t used to receiving tips because they gifted me with five handmade bracelets (see above). It was the most precious keepsake item and something I will treasure forever! Special thanks to Carnival for all the memories! I can\u2019t wait to relive my trip to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carnival.com\/cruise-to\/western-caribbean-cruises.aspx?cid=icp_dcs_awg_SunnyPeaches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Western Caribbean<\/a> via my travel journal for years to come.
