Other options include doing wall dives using underwater scooters, piloting your own mini sub, or snorkeling. It’s a great way to explore the vast ocean; you can even safely dive with wild sharks!<\/p>\n

    Fort Fincastle can be reached by a 600-foot staircase known as the Queen’s Staircase. It was carved out of solid limestone between 1793 and 1794 and is a sight to behold in and of itself. The steps connect Fort Fincastle to downtown Nassau and are named in honor of Queen Victoria. It’s a great spot to stop and take photos; the Fort sits on the highest point of the island.     If you want to take home some authentic Bahamian souvenirs, there’s no better place to visit than the Straw Market. Here you’ll find hundreds of local handicrafts, including the famous woven straw bowls that are such a strong part of Bahamian tradition. You’ll also find T-shirts, beaded necklaces and plenty of other island-themed souvenirs to take home with you.<\/p>\n

    8. Guided Island Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Take a scenic ADA tour<\/a> that can accommodate three people and a guest in a wheelchair. You can enjoy the historic beauty and culture of Nassau in privacy of a private van. On this guided tour, you will learn about Bahamian history and culture as you travel through downtown Nassau. After a short drive over the historic Sidney Poitier Bridge, you’ll arrive at Paradise Island and learn how locals buy and sell their fresh seafood. You’ll also get to explore the Queen’s Staircase and do some shopping at the Straw Market.<\/p>\n
