For guests whose flights depart from Barcelona International Airport after 4:00 PM on debarkation day and who have not already purchased a transportation voucher from the ship to the airport.
See many of Barcelona's most famous sights including its historic Gothic Quarter and enjoy some shopping time at the Spanish Village.
On this wonderful excursion from your ship, you will:
Take the commercial avenue of Via Layetana, and enter the Gothic area for an inside visit to the old Catalan Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia. Its interior with tall, slender columns and ancient stained-glass windows takes you back to the middle ages.
Your drive continues to the main square of the city, Catalunya Square. Then, take the Passeig de Gracia to reach the Sagrada Familia Church for a photo stop. Begun in 1882 and still unfinished, this temple is truly a unique sight to be seen with its profuse decoration.
A stop will be made at the Spanish Village in Montjuic Mountain, built for the 1929 Universal Exposition. This original project consisted of recreating the local architectural styles of each Spanish province.
Afterward, take a stroll through the Andalusian or Castilian streets in the Village and enjoy some free time browsing among the interesting arts and crafts.
Before leaving the Spanish Village and proceeding on your 45 minutes journey to the airport, enjoy a panoramic view of the Olympic Ring surrounding the Olympic Stadium.
Comfortable shoes are recommended. Shoulders and legs must be covered to access the Cathedral; the temple is closed to guided visits on Sundays,special event days, durin mass service, or between 1:00 PM and 5:00 pm.
