Transportation: After a boat ride to the mainland and a comfortable van ride to Cancun, you will board launches to head just north of the city to the warm waters of the Caribbean, where the whale sharks have been congregating in largest numbers anywhere on the planet.
Snorkeling Encounter: Join a lifetime bucket list experience as you snorkel with the biggest fish in the world. These docile giants, who migrate to the area around early-June through mid-September, can reach up to 40 ft. in length and feature huge box-like mouths used to trap plankton and marine life. You will swim alongside these incredible animals, accompanied by your expert guide, and become one of the privileged few to witness one of the most unique dwellers of the ocean in its natural habitat.
Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 8 years. Maximum weight – 250 lbs. Guests will need to climb a ladder to board the boat. For safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with heart or respiratory conditions or back/neck injuries may not participate on this excursion. Strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed. Guests must wear their swimsuit underneath their clothing.
What to Bring: Beach towel, underwater camera and cash or credit/debit card for wetsuit or water camera rental.
Good to Know: Tour operates in small groups. The tour is on the mainland, so guests will need to board a ferry to go and return to Cozumel island. This tour is only available from June 1 to September 15. UV protective clothing is recommended. Notify the onboard Shore Excursions Desk of any special diet or food allergies.
