Canal Cruise & City Orientation

Enjoy the scenic views of Gothenburg through land and water on this adventure filled tour! Your journey begins with a magnificent view of the city and port from behind Masthugg Church. You’ll then drive past Götaplatsen, a public square with the famous Poseidon Fountain, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Concert Hall and the Municipal Theatre. Drive along the main boulevard of Avenyn to Gustav Adolf’s Square, where you’ll see City Hall, the Court House and the Stock Exchange. Your journey continues past the Feskekyrkan, meaning fish church, which is an indoor fish market that resembles a place of worship. You will then travel to Kungsbroplatsen, where your mode of transportation changes to a paddan, also known as “toad,” which is a typical sightseeing boat of Gothenburg. Step aboard and enjoy a canal cruise down an old moat dating from the 17th century. Glide under low bridges, including the extremely low Osthyvel (“cheese slicer”) bridge that takes you to a fascinating harbor full of traditional shipyards, new and old housing, expanding commercial, academic sites, and the Maritime Museum.
