Enjoy this driving tour through the beautiful city of Gothenburg, the second-largest city in Sweden. It was founded in 1621 by King Gustav II Adolf after he grew tired of constant Danish raids and decided to build a strong fortress in the west. You will begin your tour with a drive up to Masthuggs Church, where you’ll have a beautiful panoramic view of Gothenburg and the port. During your time there, guests will be able to visit the inside of the church. Then, drive up to the heart of the city, where you will pass Götaplatsen, with its famous Poseidon statue and fountain created by Carl Milles. You will also have a chance to see the Museum of Fine Art, the Concert Hall and the Municipal Theatre in Götaplatsen. Moving on, you’ll ride along Avenyn, the city’s main boulevard, with its wide variety of fine restaurants, bars and shops. At Gustav Adolf’s Square, you will see City Hall, the Courthouse and the Stock Exchange. The tour will also pass you by the famous Feskekôrka, commonly referred to as fish church, which is a fish market that resembles a place of worship. Enjoy a guided walk in the city district of Haga, renowned for its beautiful wooden houses, 19th-century atmosphere and quaint cafés. Afterward, enjoy some free time to explore on your own before rejoining the motor coach to travel back to the pier.
