Board your open-air safari truck at the cruise port, where your driver will pour you a delightful cup of special rum punch to start your tour off right. Then sit back and relax as your driver narrates the island’s history and culture while you cruise by some of Grand Turk’s main beaches and highlights, such as Governor’s Beach, a replica of John Glenn’s Friendship space capsule, historical Bermudian-style buildings and old salt ponds, and much more! You will stop at a secluded mangrove beach cove, where a guide will welcome you to an interactive close-up “creature feature,” demonstrating some of the fascinating marine life that inhabits that eco-system. Walk out on the pier into the mangroves to learn about the upside-down jellyfish and the beautiful queen conch. Or just take a few minutes to search for natural treasures that fill the shores, and tropical birds that make the mangroves their home. You’ll then move on and enjoy a quick photo stop at the historic lighthouse overlooking the north shore beach of Grand Turk. Next, head on to Bajari Beach to hang out like the locals at a typical island-style cookout on the beach featuring local island cuisine, with a lively game of dominoes nearby. Enjoy some jerk chicken, pasta, and french fries, and more delicious options. After your meal, dance to the beat of contagious island rhythms. Or take your shoes off, let your hair down, and fall into true island mode to enjoy the beach. You will have the option to return to ship with your guide or stay a while longer and return at your leisure on a beach shuttle to the pier.
