On the Town, Tram & Timberline Tour, your small group, limited to 14 guests, will enjoy exploring Juneau by foot as well as a scenic tram ride, a refreshing nature walk and time to relax in a quaint tea house.
Your timberline tour begins with a drive through historic downtown Juneau, as you make your way to see the State Capitol Building and the Governor's Mansion. Listen to tales of Juneau past and present as you get a feel for the most visited city in Alaska. After a picture stop at Homestead Park, you will arrive at the Juneau tram base for a smooth, aerial ride 1,800 feet above the city.
After the tram portion of the timberline tour, your guide will lead you through the temperate rainforest. Remain alert and you may be lucky enough to glimpse a wandering black bear or a chiding hoary marmot. This fun outing continues at the Alpine Tea House, where you will have the opportunity to sample a variety of “made in Alaska” products created from the bounty of the rainforest. After a short presentation, you will have the opportunity to visit the Nature Center and do some mountain sightseeing, checking out all the attractions, such as the Native cultural film "Seeing Daylight" or the Raptor Center's bald eagle exhibit. Your Juneau tram ticket is good all day!
