Experience the wonder of treading upon a black sand beach where King Kamehameha the Great once stood. Travel up the Kohala coastline to Pololu Valley, one of the most remote locations on the island, where forested cliffs plunge directly into the crystal clear blue waters below. Your experienced guide will then lead your intimate size group down a switchback trail to the black sand beach nestled between majestic mountains and highlighted with a lush green valley stretching out behind its shore. On this special expedition you will visit the original statue of King Kamehameha that was handcrafted in Florence, Italy in 1878. Lunch will be included at a beautiful beach park, along with ample snacks and bottled water for your hike. We will also be making a stop at a wonderful coffee shop in the quaint town of Hawi that offers 100% Hawaiian coffee and specialty ice cream made in Hawai’i.
