Santo Domingo is the oldest city of the new world, where the most important colonial monuments are located. Departing from the port, you will pass many important sites of Santo Domingo, which was first capital of the New World and established at the beginning of the 16th century. Observe the majestic Columbus Lighthouse, Faro a Colon (photo stop included), the last burial of the Great Admiral Christopher Columbus and one of the most impressive commemorative lighthouses in the entire world. The lighthouse was designed in 1929 by a British architect Joseph Gleave and completed on the 5yh centennial anniversary of discovery of the Americas. Later on, stroll through the Colonial Zone, where the most relevant and imposing buildings were constructed during the colonial period. You will visit the Royal Houses, National Pantheon, First Cathedral of the New World and Calle Las Damas. Before returning back to the pier, you will have some leisure time for shopping at the Columbus Plaza.
