Immerse yourself in a unique, fun, educational, and cultural experience in the less traveled north shore of Maui, on a two-hour outrigger canoe adventure in the historic Kahului Harbor. This tour begins with a walk from the cruise ship to the traditional thatched roof Canoe Hale in the port of Kahului. You'll experience the hidden side of Hawaiian culture with a video presentation and discussion about ancient Polynesians, their voyaging canoes, how they navigated to Hawaii, and the formation of Hawaiian volcanic Islands. Then you’ll receive guidance on how to paddle and canoe nomenclature, closing your tour with an exciting one-hour paddling in a traditional double-hulled outrigger canoe with experienced Hawaiian Canoe Club members.
