Depart from your ship for an approximate 1.5-hour coach ride to the Vatican City. Enter the Vatican Museums and discover the beauty of the Vatican Gardens which has been a place of quiet and meditation for the popes since 1279. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of the museums and its rich collection before reaching the Sistine Chapel. Marvel at the masterpieces of the great artist, Michelangelo, including his frescoes of the Creation of Adam on the ceiling and The Last Judgment on the altar wall. Finally, reach St. Peter’s Square, where your guide will provide a full outside explanation of St. Peter’s Basilica, which is the largest church in the world. Spend some free time to grab some lunch or go shopping. Before leaving the Eternal City, you will do a panoramic drive, which will pass by Circus Maximus, St. Angel Castle and the imposing Colosseum.
