See all the glories of Rome. Board your motor coach for a 90-minute journey into Rome, then stroll into St. Peter’s Square. Enter St. Peter’s Basilica and see the gilded papal canopy called baldacchino, created by Bernini, and Michelangelo's marble masterpiece, the Pietà. Enjoy the scenic drive along the Tiber River, passing the Tiberine Island, the Roman Bridges, the Circus Maximus and the imposing remains of the Imperial Palaces. Drive to the Colosseum, where an inside visit will be given by your tour guide. From a look-out point, you will see the Roman Forum Shops. Arrive at the Trevi Fountain where you can toss a coin to ensure your return to the Eternal City. Treat yourself to lunch while visiting.
The minister of tourism has established a maximum number of visitors that can be inside the Colosseum at once. Should this number be reached, entrance may be stopped and delayed. Should your guide foresee that the wait time at the Colosseum or at the St. Peter's Basilica’s security checkpoint is longer than 45 minutes, the guide will forego the inside visit and provide a full explanation from the outside. This tour includes a considerable amount of walking, extended periods of standing and approximately 100 steps to negotiate. Guests must be able to walk over uneven ground. For safety reasons, guests with walking difficulties may not participate on this excursion. Please cover shoulders and knees to visit religious buildings. Tour may operate in reverse order. Due to traffic regulation, motorcoaches are not allowed to get close to some highlights such as Trevi Fountain and Colosseum; this will involve additional walking portions to and from pick-up/drop-off points during the tour.
