Discover the city and culture of this unique city by sampling some if it’s traditional and popular foods and drinks. You will depart from the port by motor coach driving along the coast and into the historic city center for the first tasting of local corn breads, empanadas and Colombian coffee. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a stroll around the city with a knowledgeable guide. Discover the various architectures, which tell the story of the Spanish Colonial and Republican Reign. Then you will wander through the Bolivar Plaza, where you can relax in the shade under the acacia trees. Explore Colombia’s oldest church, and check out Parque Santander, a park full of mimosa trees and where you can grab a bite of mashed green bananas and coconut lemonade. Continue through the historic and colorful city streets of Santa Marta where you can explore the Gold Museum. The museum showcases a selection of pre-Colombian gold and other metal alloys from the indigenous cultures. You will then have the opportunity to taste some local sweet dishes and Colombian sodas, before returning to the pier by bus.
