Details

Cordoba was always considered a privileged place due to its location near the River Guadalquivir, which was formerly navigable, and the legacy of the different people who settled on its rich farming lands. In 1994, not only the city's famous Mosque-Cathedral, but also all the streets and buildings around it were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Cordoba’s unique architecture was influenced by the age of Muslim and Christian populations settling side-by-side. Once in Cordoba, you will meet your tour guide who will take you on a guided walking tour through the quaint little streets. You will visit the mosque, a very well-preserved monument from the 8th century. Next, proceed to the Jewish Quarter, where you will visit the Synagogue. Built in 1350, the Synagogue no longer functions as a place of worship, but it is an important historical monument and a treasured symbol of Spain’s modern Jewish communities. It is the only synagogue in Andalusia to survive the expulsion and inquisition of the Jewish community in 1492 and one of only three ancient synagogues left in all of Spain. After your visit, enjoy some free time to stroll the narrow streets and maybe get a glance of its many typical patios hidden behind the doors. You can have lunch at leisure during your free time until you meet your escort again for your return trip to Malaga.
