Enjoy a plate of Britain’s national dish with a visit to Frankie’s Fish & Chips, acclaimed as the “UK’s #1 Fish and Chips Shop.” From Lerwick, you’ll head through the heart of the island. Along the way, you’ll stop and have the opportunity to take photos with the scenic peat and heather-covered landscape that overlooks the town of Scalloway. Once done, you’ll continue on past the Tingwall Loch, once the home of Shetland’s earliest “Ting,” which is Old Norse for parliament. Every year, an assembly of freemen would convene at the north end of the loch, set up camp and proceed to resolve disputes and make political decisions. Next, you’ll continue on to the seaside village of Brae. Soon, you’ll arrive at the well-known Frankie’s Fish & Chips. Perched on the shores of Busta Voe (a small bay), this inviting shop offers wonderful views and a fun atmosphere. After you’ve savored your delicious lunch, you’ll rejoin your motor coach and return to Lerwick.
