Discover the cultural history and stunning beauty of St. Maarten on this adventure which explores an 18th century plantation and the highest point of elevation on the island. Begin the day exploring the Rockland Estate, a plantation built in the 1700’s located about 20 minutes away from the docks. At the estate, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the conditions of plantation life as well as customs, traditions, and the history of St Maarten. After exploring a taste of St. Maarten’s history, board the Soualiga Sky Explorer for a 25 minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maarten’s highest point at 1,125 feet. The top of the Sentry Hill offers spectacular 360 degree view of the whole island as well as the neighboring islands of Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barth, and Anguilla. When you are ready to descend, board the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the scenic trip down the mountain back to Rockland Estate where local delicacies, snacks, and beverages are available for purchase.
