Unvaccinated guests are welcome to sail and are no longer required to apply for a vaccine exemption, except for voyages of 16 nights and longer departing through December 31, 2022.

Unvaccinated guests visiting Canada - While unvaccinated guests do not need a Carnival vaccine exemption, their reservation is not considered confirmed until they complete their vaccine attestation and we are able to determine they meet destination specific requirements. Guests who do not submit their vaccine attestation, as required, will unfortunately be cancelled. Additionally, unvaccinated teens and adults with a medical exception will need to complete the health document as required by Canadian health authorities, which can be found here.

Unvaccinated guests must meet all testing and destination requirements, as indicated below.

Vaccine exemptions are required for Carnival Spirit® 16-day Carnival Journey (Panama Canal) - September 20, 2022. Exemptions are limited and will be accommodated for guests with medical conditions preventing vaccination and religious exemptions only. Unfortunately, no exemptions will be provided for unvaccinated children under 12.

If you are an unvaccinated guest sailing on the voyage above, your reservation is not considered confirmed unless you receive an approved exemption. Exemptions are approved in the order in which they were received. If we are unable to approve your request, you will be eligible for a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot assist with expenses related to a denied exemption request, and guests assume all risks related to non-refundable travel costs, (i.e., air fare, hotel, etc.).

Testing Requirements

Guests will have to present the negative results of a PCR or antigen test taken no earlier than 3 days before sailing or when required by a destination. For example: if a PCR test is required 3 days before sailing, the test may be taken as early as Wednesday for a cruise departing on Saturday.

Going Ashore

Unvaccinated guests are free to disembark and enjoy their time ashore. However, Cartagena, Colombia requires unvaccinated guests age 18 and older to remain on board.
