Excursion Description

Set out into the calm protected waters of Southeast Alaska in the F/V Aleutian Ballad, the same vessel seen on the second season of the Discovery Channel's “Deadliest Catch” program.

Wildlife is everywhere in Alaska! Crabs, eagles, whales, octopus, sea lions, porpoise, wolf eels, sharks and seals are all frequent visitors on the Bering Sea Crab Fishermen’s Tour. Come aboard the Aleutian Ballad for the adventure of a lifetime!

The Aleutian Ballad was made famous in season two of Discovery Channel’s award-winning TV series Deadliest Catch when it was hit by a 60’ rogue wave and miraculously survived. But there are no rough seas here!

You will set out in the calm, protected waters of the Inside Passage to witness first-hand the amazing way of life of commercial fishermen.

Marvel at the scenic beauty that surrounds you from the comfort of the heated and sheltered stadium-style seating lower deck or the open-air top deck.

Watch as the skilled crew haul and set long line, barrel pots and huge 700 lb king crab pots to reveal the catch of the day.

The amazing marine life is placed in an on-deck aquarium so everyone can get up close with these unique creatures of the sea.

This fascinating, educational and interactive experience is perfect for all ages and is packed with stories and adventures shared by the men and women who risk their lives fishing the Bering Sea.

And if your shore excursion experience was less than perfect - well, that's perfectly alright too - we'd like you to share your experience here too. The more reviews that are left, the better a resource this is for everybody.

How to leave a great review

All you need to do is share your honest opinions. (Just make sure it doesn't include personally-identifying information or pricing information.) Try to remember as many details as you can about your experience - the more you can add to it, the better. We'll also ask you to score the excursion based on Value, Convenience... and perhaps most importantly, Fun.

Why reviews are important

Reviews help cruisers just like you make more informed decisions when planning ways to spend their time ashore. They also help Carnival understand which shore excursion operators are providing our guests with fun experiences that meet their expectations, so that we can constantly improve our shore excursion lineup across all ports of call that Carnival visits.

Getting started

Writing a shore excursion review is easy! Here's how:

  • Select a port of call you've visited
  • Find an excursion you've done
  • Click "Write a Review"
  • Then just write a review!
