Oslo, Norway

Oslo is Scandinavia’s oldest capital city. Also the least populated, its vast remote countryside is great for sightseeing and skiing, while city life is laid back, yet refined. Visit the natural wonder of Oslo Fjord, spanning over 750 square miles with water vistas abound. Walk through the city centre and behold the Akershus Fortress, a massive medieval castle, as well as several museums, parks and Stortinget – the Parliament. Then travel a mere 3 miles west to the beautiful Bygdoy peninsula, which houses some of the city’s best museums, the Bygdoy Royal Estate—summer home to the King of Norway—and for a more chill time, trek over to Paradisbukta beach (Norwegian for “Paradise Bay”).

  • Stand atop Holmenkollen, the ski jumping site of the 2011 Ski Jump World Championship.
  • Learn great history at the Viking Museum in Bygdoy peninsula.
  • Visit the garden showcases of Vigeland Sculpture Park, the largest sculpture park in the world, all created by only one artist.
