Ingredients:
- 2 oz Belvedere vodka
- ½ oz sweet and sour mix
- 1 oz lime juice
- 2 basil leaves
- ½ oz simple syrup
Here’s how you do it:
- This is going to be a little weird, but smack the basil. Yeah, just put it in the palm of your hand and smack it with your other hand. (It feels, frankly, a little wrong… but trust us, the basil doesn’t mind. In fact, the herb rewards you with extra aromatics when you do this!)
- Drop the aroma-unlocked basil into your cocktail shaker. Add some ice.
- Add the liquid ingredients one-by-one.
- Shake it, vigorously.
- Pour into a glass, passing it through a strainer on the way down to aerate.
- Fancy bonus! Cut a little extra basil into a swirly shape and perch on the edge of the glass.
