OH MY GOSH I was in MARKET HEAVEN when I was on my Carnival Cruise!!! Something I would HIGHLY recommend if you’re offshore exploring or going on an excursion is making sure you spend a little bit of time walking around the local markets. You can find most markets a short walk from the ship. I was recently sailing on the Carnival Glory and I had A BLAST exploring offshore in the beautiful open market in St. Thomas. People are really friendly and eager to help if you have questions. I found myself captivated by the beautiful fabrics and how the women would wear them. I was able to get a few tutorials and left with some priceless treasures!!!
