Top Things to Do in Turks & Caicos + Fun Day at Sea

Waking up in Turks and Caicos and seeing the never ending stretch of white-sand beaches and vibrant turquoise waters from the boardroom was surreal. Grand Turk was our fourth and final destination on the 7 Day Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory.

Located in the easternmost Turks and Caicos, a British Overseas Territory, Grand Turk is home to the archipelago’s capital of Cockburn Town. Popular excursions include Catamaran Sailaway, Beach & Snorkel, Horseback Ride & Swim, A Taste of Grand Turk & Beach Getaway, and Reef & Rays.

You’ll want to spend the entire day on the beach on this sun-soaked Caribbean paradise! Go swimming, snorkeling, kayak the surf, or walk along the 6 mile long and a mile wide beach.

SNORKELING WITH STINGRAYS IN GRAND TURK

You can’t vacation in Turks and Caicos without doing at least one water activity. We did go snorkeling with the stingrays at Half Moon Cay, Bahamas that were raised in a netted area, so we wanted to snorkel with the stingrays at Grand Turk that swim in open water with the Reef & Rays excursion.

Our first stop was at a private reef off the coast of Grand Turk. After getting geared up with a snorkel mask, fin, and life vest, we jumped off the boat and into the crisp waters of Turks & Caicos. The local tour guides showed us the corals, sea sponges, and barracuda that live in these waters.

The next stop was at a secluded island where the stingrays play. We got to swim alongside and pet the wild Atlantic Stingrays – their underbellies were surprisingly soft!

Then it was back on the beach for a cocktail before leaving Grand Turk.

FISH & CHIPS

Back on ship, we went to the fish and chips station on deck 10 for dinner – the fried fish and chips, fried oysters, ceviche, and cioppino stew were so good.

The next day was spent at sea so I started the day with breakfast in the dining room. The best part is if you order too much, you can always get it to-go to eat later in your stateroom. I loved watching the waves go by from our patio!

Our stateroom was always filled with these adorable towel animals. Coming back to the room and seeing a different animal every day was so much fun!

Cheers to the 7 Day Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory! I can’t wait to visit other destinations on my next Carnival Cruise!
