1. A Spectacular Two-Day Tour to Chichen Itza

An unforgettable twilight visit to Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring ancient Mayan ruins, is the highlight of the Chichen Itza Light & Sound Spectacle. This is a two-day tour that includes an overnight hotel stay, meals and transportation from Cozumel to mainland Mexico. Travel by ferry from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen on the Yucatan Peninsula, then by private coach to the intriguing colonial city of Valladolid, your base for visiting Chichen Itza.

Arrive at the archaeological site before sunset and explore its well-preserved temples, pyramids and carved columns, all adorned with elaborate carvings and motifs. At dusk, you will take a seat for a dazzling light and sound show that illuminates the great monuments and details the history of the site. Day 2 features a visit to picturesque Izamal, known as the “Yellow City” because most of its buildings are painted in sunny hues.

The city preserves its own ancient Mayan temple and is home to a famous convent, Our Lady of Izamal, which was visited by Pope John Paul in 1993 and is a famous pilgrimage site.

2. Three Land and Sea Adventures in One

Can’t decide whether to stay dry on a land-based Cozumel adventure or explore its amazing underwater world? Want to fit in some lounging time and active time? Opt for the new excursion – Fantastic Zip Lines, Snorkel & Beach – that lets you have three fun experiences in one. It all takes place at the private Islands Beach Club, where your first adventure is a zip line course featuring six suspension bridges, three zip lines, and for the adrenaline-pumping finale, a 75-foot free rappel back down to sea level.

Next up is a snorkel trip, during which you’ll admire the colorful tropical fish that inhabit Cozumel’s coral reef. End the excursion with free time at the Islands Beach Club, where you can relax beside the pool or on the beach, play in the ocean and optionally rent kayaks, paddle boards, wave runners or bicycles. All transportation is included.

3. Your Own Oceanfront Cabana on a Private Island

If you’ve ever dreamed of having your own private oceanfront abode, private island, personal chef or bartender, make all those dreams come true during your cruise to Cozumel with the Private Oasis at Passion Island excursion. You’ll be whisked across the water by a motor catamaran, a 45-minute cruise that takes you to the private tropical island, Isla Pasion, and your own private oasis.

This magical home for the day is a grand cabana overlooking the ocean and surrounded by shady palm trees, with indoor and outdoor seating and dining areas, air conditioning, a television and sound system for playing your own tropical island soundtrack. It gets even better… your package includes the services of a personal cabana steward, a personal chef and your own bartender. Groups of up to 12 guests can enjoy the private oasis with a single reservation.

4. A Custom Cozumel Tour by Private Vehicle

There are so many things to do in Cozumel that every visitor’s ideal itinerary is going to be different. A great way to spend the day doing exactly what you want, and on your own schedule, is with the Private Van – Your Day, Your Way excursion. You’ll be picked up (and dropped off) right at the pier by a private driver in an air-conditioned van seating up to seven guests.

An expert local guide will also be on board as your host, who can make recommendations that fit your sightseeing desires, or simply follow your instructions to show you only your preferred places. Want to eat the best tacos on the island? Done! Hit the best snorkel spots? Your host knows them all! Other ideas include Mayan archaeological sites, chocolate factories, ecological parks and a lighthouse.

5. The Ultimate Celebration in Cozumel

A cruise to Mexico is a cause for celebration in itself, but many cruisers have something special to celebrate as well – a birthday, anniversary, family reunion, perhaps even a marriage proposal. Whatever your reason for rejoicing, make the moment extra memorable with the custom Celebrate Your Day excursion.

It’s an all-inclusive day at Cozumel’s Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park, where you can snorkel, enjoy the beach, see the dolphins, manatees, crocodiles and sea lions, and take an eco-archaeological tour. There’s also a buffet lunch and open bar. Your own celebration will take place at Hacienda Antigua, the village tequileria, where you can arrange flowers, have a slice of cake and make a toast with sparkling wine.
