Discover the highlights of the city of Cartagena on this scenic walking tour. Originally settled in 227 BC, this city has flourished under Carthaginian, Roman and Moorish rule, and today it offers a vast cultural legacy. You’ll begin your tour with a walk up to Concepción Castle. From here, take pictures as you bask in panoramic views that sweep over the city and the harbor to the 18th-century sea wall. You’ll stroll along the sea wall to reach Town Hall Square and the main avenue, admiring modernist-style buildings that date back to the beginning of the 19th century along the way. You’ll then visit the Muralla Púnica (Punic Wall), an archaeological site of the first defensive wall that protected the city during the period of Carthaginian occupation. After your walk, enjoy some free time to explore on your own before going back to the ship.
For safety reasons, guests with difficulties walking may not participate on this excursion. Tour normally does not operate on Mondays.
