Party Bus: Your party begins when you step aboard your chiva, a hand-painted, old, wooden artisan bus. These buses are used in rural areas for public transport; they are colorfully painted with local arabesques and figures. Enjoy non-stop ‘papayera’ or ‘vallenato’ (local music), complimentary drinks, and learn about the interesting history and traditions of Cartagena. Laugh, clap, sing and listen to jokes, as your chiva takes you around the charming streets of Cartagena.
Photo Stops: You’ll make a photo stop at the San Felipe Fortress, Manga, Pie de la Popa, El Centro, Boca Grande, Laguito, Castillo Grande, and the Old City (Las Bovedas). Your chiva will stop at the historic Santa Catalina’s Bastion. Here, you can stretch your legs or dance to the beat of the music. You’ll have some time for souvenir and handicraft shopping at Las Bovedas Artisan Center.
Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age to participate – 18 years. Guests must be able to negotiate the three steps on and off the chiva bus.
Good to Know: The chiva is an open-sided bus, without windows and wooden benches for seating.
