Colon is surrounded by lush rainforest. The Chagres River flows through this rainforest on its way to Gatun Lake, which eventually feeds the chambers for the Panama Canal locks system. The Embera Indian community lives in Emberache Puru inside the Gatun Lake. This community of Indians live today much as they did when the discoverer of the Pacific Ocean, Vasco Nu ez de Balboa, first set foot in Panama. Discover their cultures and enjoy a presentation of their dances. We will continue with a boat ride inside Gatun Lake, where flora and fauna will leave you breathless. If you like to see spectacular things, then you need to visit the Panama Canal, considered by many to be the Eighth Wonder of the World. On your visit, learn about its operation and see it for yourself!
