This tour takes you away from the city of Glasgow and out into the quiet countryside of the historic Blane Valley. Nestling in the lea of the Campsie Hills from where Glengoyne Distillery draws its pure soft water, tumbling down a 50-ft. waterfall, you`ll find this neat compact distillery is an ideal spot to view the skills and crafts of the distiller. For more than 150 years, Glengoyne distillery has been working continuously. Its traditional methods have been handed down from generation to generation to produce a distinctive malt whisky enjoyed by a growing number of connoisseurs. On arrival, you will be welcomed in the reception room, overlooking the dam, glen and waterfall, with a dram of Glengoyne single malt whisky. While enjoying your dram, there is a short explanatory video describing the distillery and the processes in making malt whisky. You are then taken on an entertaining tour of the distillery. There is time for you to browse in the small shop selling various whiskies and a selection of Scottish sourced souvenirs before leaving the distillery. Reboard the motorcoach and make your way to Loch Lomond Shores. Here, you'll have some free time to relax and enjoy the views over Loch Lomond. Alternatively, seize the opportunity to visit some of the shops before reboarding your motorcoach and commencing the return drive to Greenock.
