Helicopter Ride: Step into an A-Star helicopter and embark on a breathtaking journey above Juneau’s diverse ecosystems. Soar over the ancient trees of the Tongass National Forest, dramatic mountain ranges, and expansive flows of ice that change from white to brilliant shades of blue. Your flight reaches its peak with a landing at a base camp nestled on the Mendenhall Glacier.

Glacier Trek: This 2-hour glacier trekking adventure, led by a knowledgeable interpretive guide, offers an amazing blend of scientific discovery, ice trekking and exploration, and stunning views of the Mendenhall Glacier’s most breathtaking features. There is an early emphasis on learning the proper use of mountaineering gear and understanding the glacial features and hazards so that remote areas of the glacier can be accessed during the trek. This is your opportunity to explore some of the Juneau Icefield’s most pristine areas that few in the world will ever get to witness.
